After going through the process of simplifying everything…
And starting to build momentum…
I’ve spent some time thinking about something:
What would I do differently if I were starting today?
I Would Start Simpler
The biggest change would be this:
I wouldn’t try to understand everything upfront.
I wouldn’t try to build a full system.
I would start with one simple action.
I Would Choose Faster
Instead of spending time comparing different paths…
I would pick one.
Not because it’s perfect.
But because it’s clear enough to begin.
I Would Focus on Doing, Not “Over-Learning”
I would still learn.
But only what I needed to take the next step.
Not everything at once.
I Would Do Less
Instead of trying to:
- Build everything
- Set everything up
- Figure everything out
I would focus on one thing at a time.
And finish it.
I Would Be More Patient
This is a big one.
I wouldn’t expect fast results.
I would expect:
- Small progress
- Slow movement
- Gradual improvement
And I would stick with it anyway.
What I Would Keep the Same
Even with all of that…
There’s one thing I would still do the same.
I would focus on creating and publishing
Right now, or me, that means:
- Writing blog posts for ReggiePatterson.com and my niche affiliate sites
- Working on short sci-fi content through KDP
Because that’s something I can do consistently.
Why This Matters
Looking back, most of the things that slowed me down weren’t necessary.
They were things I thought I needed to do.
But didn’t.
If I were starting again today, I wouldn’t try to do everything right.
I would try to do one thing consistently.
And let that be enough to move forward.
