After spending the past couple of weeks simplifying everything…
I wanted to share something a little different.
What I actually worked on this week.
Not a big plan.
Not a complicated system.
Just what it looked like in real life.
What I Focused On
This week, I kept things simple.
I focused on:
- Writing and publishing blog posts… one for my carpet cleaning site, one for patio heaters site, one for my science fiction site, and, of course, posts here on my personal site.
- I also worked on the first draft of my next KDP science fiction project.
I used 30-minute bursts to accomplish these goals. No distractions for 30-minutes straight… just concentrated focus.
That’s it.
No extra layers.
No trying to build everything at once.
What That Looked Like Day to Day
Most days, I set aside short blocks of time…
And focused on one task at a time.
Some days that meant:
- Writing part of a post
- Finishing and publishing something
- Making small progress on a KDP project
Nothing dramatic.
Just steady movement.
What I Noticed
A few things stood out to me.
First, things felt a lot less overwhelming.
Because I wasn’t trying to do everything.
Second, I actually started finishing things.
Which is something that didn’t happen when I was jumping between ideas.
And third…
It felt more realistic.
Like something I could actually keep doing.
What Didn’t Happen
I didn’t:
- Build a full system
- Set up everything at once
- Try to figure out every detail
And that’s the point.
Why This Matters
When you see everything online, it can feel like you need to do a lot to get started.
But this week reminded me of something simple:
Progress is usually quiet
It doesn’t look impressive day to day.
But it adds up.
If you’ve been feeling stuck, you don’t need to do more.
You need to do something…
And then keep doing it.
Even if it feels small.
Because that’s how things start to move.
